TEHRAN - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has said that Iran approves of any decision that the Lebanese make about the next government in the country.

Salehi made the remarks during an interview with the Beirut-based Al-Akhbar newspaper, which was published on Monday.
He also said the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah share common beliefs, but it does not mean that Iran supports efforts to bring to power a certain political group in Lebanon.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian diplomat said Iran believe that the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) lacks credibility.
The STL is investigating the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri.
On the recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa, the foreign minister said certain media outlets are making efforts to suggest that these incidents have been provoked by major countries in the world, but such claims are false.
Asked about Iran-Saudi Arabia relations, Salehi said both countries share common views on many but not all issues.
